Hangul [or hangeul] is the offical language of the Koreas. South Korea's hangul is different than North Korea's. Nonetheless, many characters are the same. Hangul is composed of 29 characters, 19 consonants and 10 vowels.
Some vowels join together to form new ones, so be careful! More than 72 million people use Hangul on the Korean peninsula. All characters are placed into blocks according to their syllables. There are 9 different ways someone can group blocks. The characters/letters are divided into 5 groups. They are diphthongs, vowels, consonants, iotized vowels and double consonants. I will add more later.
